There are an estimated 5.8 million lost people in our state — more than half the population. One of the best ways to reach people is to plant new churches. That's why the Baptist State Convention has a team that works year-round to help the starting of new churches.
North Carolina Baptists help start more than 100 new churches each year, two-thirds of them reaching the many new language and culture groups now living in our state.
About every three days North Carolina Baptists launch a new church in their state.
In 2015, the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina (BSCNC) worked with 105 new churches — 83 new church plants and 22 new affiliate churches. Since 2007, the BSCNC has helped start more than 1,000 new churches. Many of these have thrived — in fact several of the churches have started other churches. These multiplying churches are an effective model for impacting lostness throughout North Carolina.
NCMO provides about a third of the church planting team's budget each year. More giving = more church planting missionaries = more churches started = more people coming to Christ. It's that simple.
