North America

is marked by hundreds of cities needing the gospel. The nations have come to the cities, and we can make an eternal impact by engaging cities with the gospel. Over the next 10 years, North Carolina Baptists will engage three great cities through prayer, church planting and mobilizing churches for Kingdom impact.

Toronto Partnership

The Greater Toronto Metropolitan Area (GTA) has a population of six million and is the largest metropolitan area in Canada. Nearly one out of every five residents of Canada lives in GTA, making it a strategic center for reaching Canada with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Toronto is one of the most diverse cities in the world. More than 140 languages and dialects are spoken in GTA, and just over 30 percent of Toronto residents speak a language other than English or French at home. More than half Toronto’s population was born outside Canada. Much like New York City, the potential global impact makes Toronto an important strategic piece in the overall strategy of the Office of Great Commission Partnerships.

Boston Partnership

Metropolitan Boston has a population of more than 4.5 million people. The evangelical population of this important New England urban center is less than three percent. More than 1,000 towns in New England are without an evangelical witness. The urgency of the need for the gospel in New England is great, and Boston lies at the strategic center of the region.

The focus of the Metropolitan Boston partnership is the interior of the I-495 loop around Boston. The need for planting new churches, helping existing churches and praying for potential church plants is essential in this partnership.

New York Partnership

New York

With 8.5 million inhabitants who speak nearly 500 languages, New York City is one of the most diverse and influential cities in the word. One out of every 16 people in the United States lives within a 75-mile radius of Times Square.

Metropolitan New York Baptist Association (MNYBA) is about connecting local churches for global impact. MNYBA helps churches plant new churches, serve in their communities and advance the Kingdom of God throughout the world.

The churches of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina are partnering with MNYBA to help advance the gospel in an area where only three percent of the population has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

The Baltimore metro area boasts a population of more than 2.7 million people. Yet within this same area, there are only 206 active SBC congregations, leaving just one SBC church to every 12,947 people. In a city with increasingly high rankings in crime, poverty and the spread of diseases like HIV, the need for the gospel is increasing. In an effort to see new works started and existing works supported, NAMB is mobilizing church partners and planters through Send North America: Baltimore.
