Join N.C. Baptists for the 2017 Disciple-Making Conference. If you’ve been changed by Christ, it should lead to a life that’s marked by being a disciple who makes disciples. Equipping and main sessions will focus on the pillars of disciple-making: evangelism and discipleship. A featured women’s evangelism and discipleship equipping session will be led by Tabatha Frost of Providence Baptist Church in Raleigh.

Brainerd Baptist Church, Chattanooga, Tenn.

Micah Fries is the senior pastor of Brainerd Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Prior to serving at Brainerd, he served as the vice president of LifeWay Research in Nashville, Tennessee, and as a frequent speaker in churches and conferences. Micah has also served as a senior pastor in Missouri and an international church planter in Burkina Faso, West Africa. He is the author of a commentary volume on Haggai and Zephaniah in the “Christ-Centered Commentary” series. Micah and his wife Tracy are the parents to two girls, Sarah Grace and Kessed Noel, and they are in the process of adopting a child from the Kingdom of Lesotho.

Reach Fellowship, North Long Beach, Calif.


D.A. Horton serves as pastor of Reach Fellowship, a church plant in North Long Beach, California, and as chief evangelist for the Urban Youth Workers Institute. Prior to his current roles, D.A. served as an urban church planter and pastor in Kansas City, Missouri, a national coordinator of urban student ministries at the North American Mission Board, and the executive director at ReachLife Ministries, the non-profit ministry of Reach Records. D.A. has authored three books, and he and he is co-authoring a book on marriage with his wife of 13 years, Elicia. The Hortons have two daughters, Izabelle and Lola, and one son, D.A. Jr., also known as Duce.

Ed Newton is the lead pastor at Community Bible Church in San Antonio, Texas. God has uniquely gifted Ed with an ability to connect with various age groups, personally and corporately. His communication style can be summarized as “passion with content” while seeking to inspire people to be passionate, dedicated followers of Christ. For 13 years, Ed was a full-time itinerant evangelist traveling across the United States and abroad preaching to students and adults. Ed is husband to his college sweetheart, Stephanie, and dad to London, Lola, Liv and Lawson.
