About Us

The BSCNC was established in 1830 as a way to accomplish more for God's Kingdom by working together. We exist to assist local churches as they seek to fulfill their divinely appointed mission.

The Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, which cooperates with the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), includes 78 local Baptist associations and about 4,300 churches. Our cooperating churches are autonomous and each church voluntarily decides to join the BSCNC in ministry and missions efforts.

The BSCNC staff operates under the supervision of a board, which is comprised of pastors and lay people from its member churches across the state.

Our Mission

To assist the churches in their divinely appointed mission

Our Vision

"By God’s grace, we will become the strongest force in the history of this Convention for reaching people with the message of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.” -Milton A. Hollifield Jr, Executive Director-Treasurer

Core Values

The 7 Pillars for Ministry are biblical concepts that serve as core values to help the Convention stay focused on its mission, which is to assist North Carolina Baptist churches in achieving what God has called them to do. Our core values are: practice fervent prayer; promote evangelism and disciple-making; strengthen existing churches; plant new multiplication churches; reach North Carolina's international community; embrace unreached and unengaged people groups; engage young church leaders. For more details download a copy of the 7 Pillars document below.
